Podchat does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or account information.
What we collect
When you use Podchat's AI voice mode, Podchat collects:
- Your voice — microphone audio captured during the voice interaction.
- Conversation recordings — recordings of your voice conversations with Podchat, which may include your requests and Podchat’s spoken replies.
- Episode context — the podcast feed URL, episode identifier, and your current playback position.
How it is collected
Audio, conversation recordings, and episode context are captured only when you explicitly start a voice session by tapping the microphone button or using AirPods double-tap, and only after you have granted consent through the in-app prompt. When the session ends, the microphone turns off and live collection stops.
How it is used
Your voice, conversation recordings, and episode context are used to answer your questions about the episode you are listening to and to improve Podchat, including product quality and reliability. The data is processed by third-party AI services on our behalf and is not used for advertising or to train third-party models.
Third parties we share data with
- Third-party AI providers — Podchat’s servers use third-party AI providers for real-time audio routing and to generate responses. Audio is transmitted through these providers’ servers to reach the AI agent and is processed transiently. These providers are contractually bound to data protection standards equivalent to this policy.
Retention
Podchat may retain conversation recordings and related episode context to improve the product. If you would like a recording removed, contact [email protected].
Your choices
You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI Voice Features. Withdrawing consent prevents future voice sessions from starting. You can also revoke microphone access in iOS Settings.
Children
Podchat is not directed to children under 13.
